Best way is to go to the sports store and try out their size...it depends if you like a fitted or relaxed fit. Cheers.

i just went to collect my t-shirt at MS & i'm very fed up with the organisers. i was told there is no XL which i had ordered initially & there is only S & M available. No bigger sizes are expected tomorrow at the collection counter too. i paid $20 for the registration & am looking fwd to wearing that orange shirt on the actual day. Now after collecting the biggest size available 'M", I'm still unable to fit in. waste my money & dash my hopes. :x furthermore this is my 1st time joining in this event.

i jus dun understand that why cant the organizers spare a thought for those bigger sizes ladies who are going for the run? are u assuming that only fit & slim ladies will go for the run? are you implying to us that bigger sizes ladies should not join in the run? discrimination agst us, arent you? if we cant choose the sizes, why give us that option during registration?!! :x i know i cant wear M & that's y i choose XL. but in reality right now, u are forcing us to take whatever that is available & to make do with whatever is available. yes, no doubt females are more health conscious & slimmer these days but there are stil some who are not in that category. then how now??!! i feel so cheated & that i've spent $20 to get a orange rag at home now lor.. :(

this really leaves a very bad impression 4 me. so disappointed..

hihi baby_doll, i totally agree with u!! of course we chose XL because M is not our size.. wads the point of providing the size option when in the first place they dun intend to order the no. of orders we submited?? after queuing the damn long queue at MS.. the organisers told me sorry no XL.. nor L.. only M.. then he said something i was so mad hearing it.. he says "we only have M size.. anyway u dun hv to wear this to the run, u can wear your own top" WTH... of course i wish to wear tat top to join this event! @#$%^&*^%$#Q@ it's like "take it or leave it" kinda reply.. i even paid $30 to include the subscription.. but nw wad i got is an orange top tat is too tight-fitting and not suitable for jogging at all... and some trial memberships that i am not interested in.. bcos those fitness centres are bound to pester u to pay to join their membership after the free trial! really disappointed.. i have been looking so forward to getting this nike tee!!!!! i seriously hope they can do something about it~~~

i read somewhere (forgot where) that the tee sizes are limited. i belong to the bigger size group, so very kan cheong, lunch time quickly pio down to MS to collect. lucky enough still got my xl. after try out....omg....so tight fitting. if i run wearing it, sure cannot breath....haiz...don understand why women's run tee always so small.

when i was at MS, i ask one of the helper there, 'why the tee size so limited, see now so many people crowding'... she said 'oh, bcos the tee are actually ordered b4 registration closed, that's why is so limited'. i was like  b4 you collate all the registration, you already ordered, like that of course cannot meet the requirement la...!!!

i compared the tee size with others, this orange tee is about same size with size 'L' of GE red tee last year, and the waist cutting still smaller by an inch.....aiyo...

so disappointed with the tee. i indicated XL but only managed to get L. but i also cant fit into L. it's way toooo small. is this because the organising committee are a bunch of skinny women who think that all singaporean women are as skinny as them?

same as me.. i top up another $10 to get the shape subscription.. & am looking fwd to wearing that orange tee on that actual day & in my future gym sessions too & yet such can happen. hope the organizing committee can do something about it. i know u cant please everyone but by making the size bigger is better than making the sizes smaller, right? at least if the size is big, u can still wear it loose. unlike the rest of us who are forced to take the smaller sizes, we just have to throw that piece of cloth away. & it wont motivate me to slim down to wear that shirt lor. it's not worth it.

from the closing date of registration to the date of collection, it gives u ample time to make those clothes in china & sending it back to spore. dun tell me about the crap about the clothes were pre-ordered in advance. If this is so, u should have indicated it somewhere in the registration that no larger sizes are out, that will discourage the large size people to participate in the run.

if the organizing committee wishes to hold the run on a yearly basis, y cant u do something about it? such things really leaves a very bad impression 4 people. i wont consider to take part in it again. :x

most of time those only women participate event tee are always smaller, but scsm got bigger size. maybe this gotta do with the sponsors own sizing. i can hardly find a nice fitting Nike tee so far. but NB and Adidas have lor. the run in march held at east coast even worst, only 1 so call free size!!

anyway, i will still continue to take part future run cos i enjoy it. already got quite a few unfit tee liao, so no harm with another one to add on. somemore registration fee fully redeem with magazine subscription, worth it lor.

so ladies, don be dishearten by the tee, enjoy the run more important.

i indicated a M and i got an M... it was not comfy as i prefer to wear loose fitting singlet...

heard that there are people who actually exchange for L or XL during the collection... and the organiser allowed it!!! omg... in USA, they will only allow exchange after the event when there are extra... or else, you'll have to take what you indicated in the registration form... sad to hear that you gals gotten a singlet that can't fit... you should email and inform the organiser as this is not right...

btw, not all women cut for running attire are small... it is the same as running shoes... i can wear 8 for nike but it doesn't mean i can wear 8 for asics or mizuno or new balance... in fact, i wore a 9.5 for mizuno... this is the same for gear... i felt that nike and adidas perhaps, have smaller cutting... mizuno cutting is a huge... so i guess, really depends on luck...

okie, i am going to sleep... all the best to everyone and wish you a great run tomorrow!!! :)

Totally disappointed with the management

Postby chrysalis on Sun Sep 09, 2007 1:17 am

I also indicated for an XL-sized runner's tee during registration but had to settle for a M-sze instead when I went to collect on Sat afternoon.

I was also faced with very irresponsible remarks like, "You don't have to wear this tee, you can wear your own." and "If you can't wear, you can give it away to somebody else." MY goodness. Is this how the SHAPE management wants to present itself to the public?

I really wish that the management would read this forum & see for themselves just HOW MANY ladies are dissatisfied & disappointed with the tee problem. And just how much more infuriated we got, hearing the insensitive remarks of the counter servers. Apparently they don't even know what is CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We registered for the run, paid the fee & we expect what was promised to be honoured. Since we were asked for our size during registration & the run was restricted to just 6000 participants, there is no reason that the management couldn't prepare the right number of different sizes as requested.

I'm sure that SHAPE magazine is highly regarded by active women in Singapore & by active women, it also includes the bigger-sized amongst us. Does it mean that the more well-endowed should be excluded from such running events? For even the simple issue of a tee-shirt couldn't be settled by such a renowned publishing house... & the bigger-sized ladies have to face the predicament of getting the size they can possible NEVER fit into & the fee that was paid in vain, in hopes of being able to wear that exclusive tee.

I seriously hope the management would look into this matter, about the tees' sizes & also the type of people hired to man the counters. Should there be a contingency plan, like extra tees prepared so that history won't repeat itself next year? Should the counter servers be trained in customer service before they start the job? These servers represent SHAPE & the management when they stand before the public. Is it worth it to put the reputation of SHAPE in the mouths & hands of these personnel? I hope that no swops were done for people who requested a smaller size previously but wanted a bigger one in the end.

I wonder just how many women would all rush to queue up for the tee the 1st thing when the counters open next year. I wonder how many women would even stop supporting the SHAPE Run. And perhaps some would be so upset that they will stop reading SHAPE. If one were to read the forum replies carefully, he would be able to tell that we're not just disappointed but also hurt by the words said to us & possibly the shame that we have to feel just because we're bigger & we can't fit into the 'normal' sizes.

I'm lucky that I could fit into the M-size tee that I was forced to take. However, it's so skin-tight that it's impossible to run properly in it. So, I'll have to stick to wearing my own running tee for the run.

I just hope that no more unhappiness will happen tomorrow when the runner's kit is being given out. Please, no more 'not-enough's'.

Hi chrysalis, my neighbour helped me collected my tee & she also said the same thing as u. Ppl who asked for XL, only managed to get L or M when they went to collect. I feel that its ok to get a larger size than what was specified during registration but to get a smaller size  Its impossible to wear isnt it? I tink only those who are M & S managed to get the correct size...

No wonder not enuf tees...order b4 collation. Im S but when i wear the S, felt that its rather tight too...but im lucky becos im used to wearing more fitting clothings...but most of my frens who joined, opted out of the M tee they got becos too tight for comfort. Lets hope next year will be better....I nv joined last yr but can anyone share if last yr's situation was the same?
