It's not all bad

I see that the event has been mainly slammed as a really bad one in this forum.

It is my first Shape run and I must say there are lots of improvements to be made.

Clearly, the Nike bracelets distribution is a big issue. It has annoyed a lot of runners including myself. While better arrangements could have been made to ease the flow of distribution, shame on those people who took several pieces of it.

However I do feel that amidst all the negative feedback written, there are applaudable points as well.

First of all, the pink top is so gorgeous, I am sure a lot of us feel the same way. I hear ladies gushing about it. Needless to say, the organisers of such runs have to canvass for sponsorships and SPH managed to get Nike. For the runs that I've registered this year, they are only giving out Saucony, Fila, New Balance, etc. Brand aside, the fit of the top is really good especially for small-sized Asians like us.

The goodie bag is quite attractive as well. A good range of products were given to make our dollars more worth it.

It is not easy putting such a big event together, cut the organisers some slack - feedback on things they should improve on and applaud them on what they had done well. Other than a few hiccups here and there, SPH has still accomplished a successful run event to me.

At the end of it, I enjoyed the run with my friends and I think that's what's most important isn't it?

I will definitely join the run again next year.

I was, like you, very sympathetic to the organizers the first time I participated in this run 3yrs ago.

But it (the messy queuing) happened 3 yrs in a row, sorry but I have had enough. No more Shape run for me.

It is worst this year because they actually ran out of goodies (vitagen and the bracelet).

This is the 3rd year for me. I remember the 1st year when things went wrong, I was like you 'never mind lah, feedback and they will improve'. But 3 years later, not better still ok, but from bad to worst!!!.
