Great, same here.

Actually I wanted to join the realrun 2007, after I read one of the term & conditions is that the tee is subject to the availbility, it made me stop doing so. Plus some comments from my colleage, like it will be too hot to run on the runway (coz no shade from trees) and the feeling of the sand went into your shoes.

Yea, I know Its up to me not them to decide the run. Just maybe I'm not ready to run in such conditions.

Cheers :D

wow... you actually do a research! well, for me, the marathon is my pet event... so i usually support my other friends during races... :)

shape run and the ge women 10k run is exception... this is the 2nd and last time i'm taking part... (the other being the 10km run in SCSM when standard chart was roped in as title sponsor... need to test out the way they organised before taking part in the half and full events... :p

I joined this Shape run coz I missed out on this last yr, and I just have to try it out this yr.

I joined the GE10K last yr but not this yr, coz I think it is too expensive for what it is worth.

I always join the Standard Chartered Marathon coz of the atmosphere.

I always join the Safra run coz there are no other events besides the marathon that you can run half marathon.

I am joining Real run coz you get to run at Changi.

Goodie bag n Tshirt r a bonus...hehe

well done... :)

well, there are actually a lot more races... like the end of year MR25 ultra marathon where you are given 12 hours to complete as many lap as possible... but minimally you need to complete 5 laps to get the certificate... 1 lap = 10.5km... cost of fee? $10 for non MR25 members... you get a certificate, event tee and drink support...

there's also the safra ultra challenge... this was the 1st year they started and you have to complete minimally 3 laps... 1 lap = 10km... registration fee is $15 to join safra running club for 1 year... no event fee...

if not, there's the lion city marathon which will be held in jun next year... besides the full marathon distance, they also have the 50km event... but not sure about the registration fee yet...

Thanks for the info Ripley :D

But I am not sure that I want to attempt those ones. I am trying out the full marathon for the first time this yr. So if it all goes well, then I will consider the ones you have mentioned.

Will you be joining?

Hi spottycow,

When GE10K advertised in paper, I tried to log into its website but it linked me to a kind of shopping websites, then after few wks later I logged in again and found its not nicely done (for my opinion).

Great to hear that you are joing the Real run. Yea....its a kind of experience you are going to have, WOW run on the runway .....

Last Dec'06 I run 10K with StandChart, this year 2007 I'm going to run for my 1st Half Marathon (HM). I'm looking forward for my long run training after the 9 Sept'07. Yea.........

Anyone going for HM in 2 Dec'07 ? I read from 05 Sept'07 strait that StandChart increased the number of registration up to the 2000 more. SO, hurry up if you have yet registered for this 2 Dec'07 Standchart.

HAPPY RUNNING ALL.

Hi HG,

Good luck for the HM 07'!! I can tell u, after the HM, u will be hooked, and u will be so hiked up and might want to attempt the full marathon in 08'?!?!!? If it is ur first time running HM, u might like to read up on how to prevent blisters/abrasion etc. I got both after the Safra HM, very painful.

I am not joining the GE10K coz I find it is a bit too expensive, and it is only 10k, also it is of similar route to SHAPE run (u know, shenton way, nicolle hwy etc)

But I m really looking forward to REAL run though, u get to run on a plane runway!! whoaaaa
