Did not get Finisher's Bracelet!

Post your Shape Run 2009 discussions here.

I too did not get the bracelet.

I'm totally disgusted with all these cheapo and so-called runners who took so many bracelets.

And I think it's very unfair for the ladies who ran paid more effort to run 10km, but don't get what they are supposed to get!!

My aunt didnt get a finisher bracelet as well.. :( though the rest of us did. And its quite irritating to see people carrying more than one box of the finisher bracelet! Why are some people so selfish?? And we even saw people rampaging the empty boxes on the floor in hope to find one!

We went around looking for the organiser but like nobody really know who the organiser is. Finally found one girl with the "official" tag and so we spoke to her with regards to this.

She said they will feedback to Nike with regards to this - saying that Nike is responsible for giving out the finisher bracelet. (But shldnt the organiser be the one who shld be really in charge?)

We were asking her if it's possible to arrange for those who did not manage to collect the bracelet - she say that is quite impossible and said she will feedback so that next year run will be more organised. (But this is not the first yr the run has been organised?)

Well she said she will feedback but did not take down any of our particulars until my aunt offered to give her her contact. She say she will give a reply to my aunt. Lets just see if she will reply my aunt with regards to this.

this is my first time joining shape run .... if organiser or nike doesnt give those who missed out on the finisher bracelet including me, i will not ever go for this run again (unless its free of course).

how can they let people take more than one .. or even those who did not run took one? its suppose to be for the runners and runners onli.... man! simple common sense!

lets create an uproar ladies!

i didnt managed to get my Finisher's Bracelet as well. was quite disappointed, the fact that it's my first year taking part in this run, and i was quite happy with my timing, would be good to have the Finisher's Bracelet as a form of encouragement and momento

why call it Finisher Bracelet when not all who finished the run gets it. maybe Nike should name it Lucky Charm. you lucky, you get it, no lucky, too bad.

shame on those of you who take more than one! what a cheapskate you are!

i emailed to Shape Mag.

this is what i got:

We regret that you did not receive the Nike bracelets. This bracelet was a "bonus" souvenir kindly given by Nike in addition to the runner's kit that each participant received. Distribution of bracelets was managed by our sponsor. The shortage was caused by some runners taking more than one. It is regrettable that this happened. We will work with our sponsor to improve the distribution of the souvenirs in our future runs.

Regards, Shape.

Hi all,

We appreciate your feedback on this year’s run.
While we acknowledge that there is room for improvement, we would like to address some of your concerns.

- Nike bracelets
We regret that some runners did not receive the Nike bracelets. This was a "bonus" souvenir kindly given by Nike in addition to the runner's kit that each participant received. It is regrettable that this happened. We will work with our sponsor to better manage the distribution of the souvenir in our future runs.

- Timing
You can log on to www.shape.com.sg to view your timings.
Meanwhile your certificates will be mailed over to you within a month.

- Water stations
Under our sanctioning body, Singapore Athletics Association (SAA)'s recommendation, we have provided sufficient water stations for a 10km road race in our local condition.
We do however note your feedback and will take this into consideration for our future runs.

- Route
For safety of our runners, separate lanes were created with cones for the 5km and 10km runners. Road marshals were also present to guide the runners into their respective lanes.
We will continue to improve this system to provide a smoother run for our runners.

- Distance markers
We have placed the markers at the mid points of each category. We will consider to have more distance markers for our future runs.

Lastly, we value your feedback and will use them to better the run next year. We thank you for being part of Shape Run 2009.

standard answers - as expected,
unapologetic organisers - 'face' issues,
will improve - which year,
Anyway, made up my mind. Give up this disorganized event and join Nike Human Race or Sundown.
